The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shipping and distribution area of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures company products are accurately packaged, documented, and shipped to customers safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer delivery requirements and logistics schedules. The Operations Supervisor coordinates shipping workflows, material handling activities, order fulfillment, and outbound logistics operations to support operational efficiency and on-time customer delivery.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Operations Supervisor coordinates shipping workflows, material handling activities, order fulfillment, and outbound logistics operations to support operational efficiency and on-time customer delivery.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise shipping department employees responsible for picking, packing, staging, and shipping customer orders.
- Ensure customer orders are accurately prepared, packaged, and shipped according to shipping documentation and delivery requirements.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet shipping schedules and outbound logistics requirements.
- Train employees on shipping procedures, packaging standards, material handling equipment, and safety practices; document training and evaluate employee performance.
- Conduct periodic team meetings to communicate shipping performance metrics, delivery expectations, safety updates, and operational improvements.
- Monitor the accuracy of shipments, packaging quality, and shipping documentation to ensure orders meet company and customer requirements.
- Verify that Bills of Lading, packing lists, and shipping documentation are accurate prior to shipment.
- Address employee performance, attendance, and conduct issues in accordance with company policies.
- Coordinate shipping schedules with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure orders are shipped on time.
- Review shipping documentation, job orders, and customer shipping instructions for completeness and accuracy.
- Coordinate inventory movement, staging of finished goods, and outbound freight preparation.
- Analyze shipping priorities, carrier schedules, and order deadlines to ensure efficient shipment processing.
- Recommend improvements in shipping processes, packaging methods, and material handling procedures to increase efficiency and reduce shipping errors.
- Manage employee timekeeping records and monitor employee attendance and dependability.
- Interpret customer shipping requirements, routing instructions, and logistics documentation for shipping personnel when necessary.
- Implement company policies, procedures, and logistics or shipping strategies within the department.

- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Industrial Management, or related field.
- Preferred: Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping environment, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in shipping, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in shipping or warehouse environments.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as required to perform job duties.
- Ability to work in environments that may include forklifts, loading docks, heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Ability to safely operate or become certified to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Ability to access and navigate all areas of the organization’s facilities.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds independently.
